Yeah, yeah, I hear ya. It's been like a month since I've blogged. Doesn't mean I don't love you all...just means that scooping up cow crap and feeding pigs and rabbits has kept me a little busy lately. Don't believe me? You should smell my shoes.
Okay, so where does one start to catch up after so long away.....how about MY NEW RIDE! Yeah baby. Mama's got wheels. And nice ones at that. By some wicked twist of fate, I took a "personal" day off for mental regrouping, drove to Lawrence to shop for groceries, owned a new vehicle 24 hours later. Hey, when I shop....I REALLY shop! Sure helped my mental attitude! And to think I've been taking pills for that.
What else....hmmm....where in the Bible does it say that women must plant green beans, pick green beans, snap green beans, can green beans, cook green beans, serve green beans to the family and STILL do all the laundry? I must have missed a chapter. Oh yeah JOB:3 (get it? job #3....bear with me. being funny after two or three cups of coffee is a stretch).
The kids and I had a wonderful road trip to Pratt, KS over the weekend. We left Friday morning to visit my Dad and came home Saturday pm. Anyone driving from the Lawrence area to Pratt needs to know one little secret. The last hour of the drive time literally stands still. No matter when you look at your clock, it will move only one minute at a time and the scenery will not change....it will be flat, boring and mind-numbing. If you make it past that level, you get to move on to level 2...Pratt! The Pratt trip was great. For once I could sit and do nothing. No cleaning, cooking, running errands, chores, waking up early, nothing. And Dad cooked for us the whole time. My kids even asked him if he was a chef. We drove to Greensburg to see the tornado damage. That was very enlightening. Seeing pics is one thing...being there in person is a whole other ballgame. Reminded me of scenes from New Orleans after the flood!
Okay, I've given in to the electronic gods. I have swallowed my pride and decided that digital scrapbooking is more fitting for me than the tactile/old-fashion cut and paste job. It's a lot less messy, I can do it virtually anywhere with my laptop, and it's a heck of a lot cheaper in the long run. Maybe it's just a phase, but right now I'm really liking it. Plus, I can go back anytime and change it if I don't like it. How cool is that? Plus, you'll get to see the layouts on my blog....aren't you special!
I've talked your ear off....I'll spare you for the day.
Will it take me another month before posting?
Eight ball says, "ask again later"... (you mean, like say a month from now?!)
